Frequently Asked Questions
Our FAQ's
What ages do you teach?
We work with students aged 5 to 16, covering all levels of ability; from early learners to those preparing for exams or needing extension work.
Does your tuition cater to neurodiversity?
Absolutely! We support learners at all levels and all abilities - from those who need extra help, to high achievers looking for more of a challenge. Our personalised approach adapts to every child’s strengths to reach their full potential.
How much does it cost?
At NumberWorks'nWords in New Zealand, the cost is $66.00 including GST, per person, per lesson.
What are the lesson times?
Our centres run one-hour tutoring sessions after school, Monday to Friday, usually starting from 3:30pm. Times may vary slightly between locations, and we aim to be as flexible as possible to fit around your child’s other activities. Just let us know what works best for you!
What happens if my child is sick and can't make it?
Let us know as soon as possible. We’ll cancel your child’s tutoring session for that day and schedule a make-up session during the same term.
Is it all done on computers?
While computers are an excellent tool for practice and instant feedback, every student gets one-to-one teaching from a tutor. New concepts are explained and taught in person, and students use a mix of computer-based exercises, books, pen and paper, and other resources to support their learning.
How are lessons structured?
After we assess your child and identify their goals we’ll create a unique lesson plan. The content of our maths and English tutoring follows the school curriculum nationwide. You can be assured that everything learned will be relevant to your child.
Will there be homework?
Yes, but it’s designed to be short and manageable. Homework sheets reinforce what your child is learning in their sessions and help move new skills into long-term memory. To stay on track, we encourage parents to support their child in completing their home based tasks and ensure they return them.
